It is my belief that no one can replace a child’s mother, but my aim is to offer your child the closest alternative. My setting offers a home away from home, La Petite Mama in its very name stands for the little mama. I believe that tuning into each child’s uniqueness, following their interests and pairing these with carefully thought-out activities that support their development, will enable them to thrive. To do this I work closely with parents to get to know every child as deeply as possible. My style is gentle, attuned, positive and encouraging and I believe most of all children should learn to grow and develop in a loving environment.
I provide your little one with a variety of different activities and outings which are all carefully thought-out and aim to promote your little one’s learning in several key developmental areas in line with the EYFS Statutory Framework. My setting is a safe, caring and stimulating environment, enabling them to achieve their full potential. I place a strong emphasis on learning and development through play, acknowledging individual skills and abilities.
I have a huge appreciation for nature and its benefits, together with your little one we will take time to discover ways to connect with it each and every day, while suitably wrapped up for any adventure that takes their fancy. Our long garden allows plenty of space for your little one to explore and the opportunity to experience nature, complete with grass, flower filled boarders and bird feeders. The play area provides a quaint wooden house with slide and the opportunity for your child to get their hands mucky with the mud kitchen. A couple of fruit trees and a vegetable patch will enable your child to learn to grow their own food, pick it and cook it too.
We also have an allotment dedicated to the children. Here your little one will proudly push a wheelbarrow, dig their fingers deep into the dirt, build silly scarecrows, busy bug hotels, grow giant sunflowers and pick sweet strawberries. Your little one will run circles around the raised beds, while ducking under the butternut squash house and catch their breath under the shade of the runner bean tepee.
I have a dedicated playroom that invites your little one to play, with resources freely accessible at their level. The shelves are themed to tie into key events throughout the seasons. All resources are rotated regularly to ensure your little one is engaged in order to meet their needs or to extend their play through their interests.

I aim to promote your little one’s learning in several key developmental areas in line with the EYFS Statutory Framework. Every single creative play activity and experience I plan and set up will also take into consideration your little one’s learning and growth needs for their age and stage of development. Your little one will be appropriately challenged and supported.
I believe that healthy homemade food is integral to your little one’s wellbeing, not only to nourish their body but also their mind. My chosen recipes are filled with a variety of vegetables, proteins and carbohydrates to provide your child with a varied diet and takes into consideration essential vitamins and minerals needed for their growing body. Organic food is bought, where possible and all food is prepared in line with Food Hygiene standards.
I respect your child’s dietary, cultural and health needs and take these into consideration when menu planning. I will encourage your little one to choose healthy options and to experiment by trying new foods from other cultures. I believe meal times should be a social occasion, everyone attending my setting will sit and enjoy food together including me. I will also take the opportunity to help your little one understand table manners.
